Small Things directed by Zvonimir Jurić are based on the motifs of short stories by Jurica Pavičić, including the story The Fourth King from the collection The Ship in the Yard. Jurica Pavičić was a co-writer of the film. Male stvari deals with a Dalmatian island family that sells property for a tourist investment. Before and after the signing of the contract, the relationships of an old father and his three children - a son and two sisters - are examined. The main roles in the film are played by Izudin Bajrović, Marija Škaričić, Ivana Roščić and Juraj Lerotić.
"Small Things" is a family drama created as a result of the collaboration between two authors with completely different sensibilities, Jurica Pavičić, whose short story "The Fourth King" served as a script template, and Zvonimir Jurić, a director who is best at minimalist and realistic procedures.... In his, perhaps the best film of his career, Zvonimir Jurić has found a register that follows a demanding, but very sophisticated family dynamic in an extremely disciplined and minimalist manner, without a single wrong note, in which it is difficult to say what works better: a confident and calm narrative tone, a discreet emotional layer of the film, impressively rounded characters, natural dialogues or great acting performances

“Small Things” justified Jurić's reputation – it is the best film of this year's main national program.... The final shot of “Small Things” is a pure masterpiece, the actors are ... all excellent, the rhythm is perfect, the atmosphere is impressive. Inspired by one of his stories, Jurić collaborated on the screenplay with Jurica Pavičić, and this collaboration is much better than the one on the TV series “Highway Patrol” from 2016 (although that wasn't bad either), resulting in probably the best Croatian feature film of the year.
